School of Excellence
This Elite school is designed to develop the each individual player's technique at a younger age. This includes providing an in depth instruction on specific topics.
Each participant can choose to attend a session, of 4 weeks, that will focus on one particular area of their game. The School of Excellence is open to any individual that would like in depth training on a particular skill or set of skills. Membership in the ASSA is not required.
The school of excellence conducts classes each month. These classes are designed and run by the Director of Coaching and Player Development Hani Rabi. Participants may sign up for any or all of the classes each month.
Our Curriculum includes the following:
1. Acceleration, Agility, Coordination, Speed training and Injury Prevention
This is an 11 month series of a very important high level speed training. In this unique insight into developing Speed for Soccer, we will develop player's Quickness and Explosiveness, Quick feet, quick thinking, good coordination, and the ability to rapidly change direction. We will also improve the player's Reactive and Active Speed, improve his/her footwork and how to accelerate and decelerate instantaneously to get away from his/her opponent and get to the ball first. We will also have special Injury Prevention Drills. The Speed training Methodology has been tested and proven to all levels of the game of Soccer, from youth (8 Year Old) to the Professional Level.
This special training will be conducted a minimum of twice per week and will be lead by our Director of Coaching and Player Development Hani Rabi.
2. Basic Goal Keeping Training: We will focus in these classes on training Goal keepers how to properly catch low and High balls, basic diving, forward diving, angle play, jumping for high balls, basic deflecting, basic boxing, foot work, and 1 V 1. This Class is offered once per week. ( 4 - 5 months )
3. Advanced Goal Keeping Training: This class is designed for the advanced Goal keeper and will include: Distribution, increase vertical Jump, advanced Goal Keeper conditioning program, Advanced Boxing and 1 V 1. Handling Crosses, vision, rotation , setting up walls, advanced deflecting, power low and high diving, punting and taking goal kicks. this Class is offered once per week ( 5-6 months)
The following Classes will be offered once per week ( 4 times per month)
1.. Ball Mastery: emphasis on each player working independently with ball using both feet. We will utilize basic techniques and repetition. This Class is offered once per week.
2.. Receiving and Passing low balls: this will involve exercises to improve a player's touch and increase accuracy as well as creativity in passing and receiving.
3. Fast foot work: special footwork techniques to improve the speed and comfort with the ball.
4. Special techniques to create space under pressure and will spend time on teaching players how to win the 50/50 ball. We will also introduce the ladder training as part of the warm up session.
5. Receiving high balls : We will concentrate on bringing the ball from the air to the ground as quickly as possible under control. We will also continue to work on foot work with the ladder.
6. Heading and Juggling: we will focus on the proper way to head the ball, for control, pass or finishing. We will also train the players to develop timing and accuracy. We will spend at least half of the time on how to juggle the ball.
7. The Art of Shooting : we will focus on shooting the Ball with power and accuracy with both feet
8. Volley Kicks and combination kicks with Both feet/Chipping Technique :
We develop the player to be able to learn the proper technique to volley Kick as well as the proper way to chip the ball.
9. Power drive /crosses/Penalty Kicks: We will show the player the proper way to drive the ball with power and accuracy, how to cross the ball and how to ensure scoring on the penalty kicks.
10. Individual Soccer techniques and Tactics defending ( This Class will be completed over two months , 8 sessions): We will demonstrate Five defending technical and tactical training sessions. This includes:
A.1 V 1 Defending,
B.Cover and Switching Roles,
C.Defensive Transition,
D.Man to Man Defending, and
E.Zonal Defending.
11. Individual Offensive Techniques and Tactics : ( This will be completed over two months period of time, 8 sessions): this class features six attacking technical/tactical training sessions. This includes:
A. 1 V 1 Attacking
B. Offensive Transition
C. Penetration
D. Combination Play
E. Creating Space
F. Attacking With a numbers Advantage
