Thorn Phillips
Thorn Phillips was one of two players from our Club that was selected to go to Scotland to attend the Rangers Residential Camp. Thorn wrote the following describing his experience.
"I personally want to thank Our DOC Hani for picking me to go to Glasgow, Scotland. I enjoyed it so much. It was a great experience...
The plane rides were really cool. I enjoyed the take off's and landing, they were cool. And the free drinks were not bad either. The bad parts were like we flew during the night! I couldn't get to sleep! That was awful...
I was constantly being awakened by the bathroom door banging! And then I got sick on the plane. That was awful, but at least I made it in the bag. So of course I had very bad jet lag the first few days..
Even through all that, the training was amazing. I really enjoyed my coach, Erald. Our first day we went to Toryglen Regional Football Centre. It was an awesome facility. We also spent time at King Gearge V Training fields and at Murray Park. Murray Park is where the Rangers first team practices. .
On Thursday we played against a local soccer club. I was nervous because it was 11v11. But with the encouragement of my coach, I was able to play. I also about scored 3 times! Our team actually won the game, 5-2. We done a very good job..
On Friday we went to the Rangers fields, Ibrox Stadium. They gave us a tour of the facility. We also got to go to the Rangers Mega Store and buy some Ranger gear. ..
This was an amazing experience. I feel it has changed me as a player. I would love to return again next year! I wish everyone could get this opportunity to go. It was amazing! It was also very nice to take the trip with Rachael Liberty. We got to hang out a lot. We were able to support each other throughout the week."
